RULES

RULES

i. Be excellent to each other.
You're being invited into this house to play a game of pretend. This isn't a workplace. This isn't a service. This is a group of friends coming together to play a game. As such, please treat each other with dignity and respect.

The game operates on a three strike policy. Players will be given the chance to correct their behavior after breaking these rules before they are removed from the game.

Exceptions to this three-strike policy include instances of OOC homophobia, transphobia, racism, and harassment of other players, which will all results in immediate removal from the game. With that being said, the mods do respect that there is a difference between ignorance and malice, and may take that into account in determining whether a situation warrants a strike or removal.

ii. Four characters per player.
Permission to app a fifth character may be granted if the player proves themselves capable of keeping four characters consistently active.

iii. Stay active!
Activity is currently check-in, but please be active within the game.

iv. Do not reference real world events as happening in-game!
Though the game runs on a 1:1 timescale, events in the real world are not happening in the game world. Likewise, do not fictionalize or make light of real tragedies occurring in the world for content in-game.

v. Warn appropriately for content.
Warn appropriately for NSFW or triggering content within threads. Here is a list of commonly used content warnings.

vi. You must be invited to reserve and apply.
[community profile] metaheroes is a space for friends and friends of friends, but applications and reserves from invited players are handled on a first come, first serve basis.

vii. Do not powergame.
Nerfing is not required in this game. However, we encourage players to impose limitations on their characters if they feel that it would be hard to play fairly without any nerfing in effect. At this time the only thing characters cannot do is travel between dimensions.

We remind you that just because your character is the most powerful character in their canon does not mean they're the most powerful here. Remember, we're working with comics here. Squirrel Girl canonically beat Thanos in a fight. Everyone is working on a level playing field. Give other players opportunities to shine and share the spotlight. Powergaming in a way that negatively impacts other players may result in a strike.

viii. Collaborate with the mods on plots!
Though the game aspires to offer as much freedom as possible so characters can use their powers in fun and dynamic ways, please be sure you are running anything potentially disruptive or game-breaking through the mod team before you have it happen. This includes any plots that substantially alter the setting (e.g., destroying shared locations).

ix. ic actions = ic consequences.
We aspire to ensure that this a dynamic, evolving setting that will be affected by the actions players take and to give players the freedom to take risks and make a big splash. With that being said, please remember that IC actions will result in equal IC consequences. Please remember to use the plotting post and follow the guidelines inside!
