Hey there! These are excellent questions, we like them. For the time being no items are showing up from other worlds (but stay tuned, we have something planned on that front for the second half of the year that might make that a possibility!), but we absolutely encourage making up NPCs with powers to facilitate plots. Here's a brief guideline for it to keep you in step with game lore:

- They should be a native to the setting, not from a confluence.
- They don't have to be human, but you should be able to explain why they aren't. (They're a vampire who lives in Sunset Falls, or an alien that crash landed 7 years ago, or an ancient being that just woke up.)
- If they're going to be the catalyst for a plot, you should have an end in mind. Are they going to be brought down in battle so they can't do it again? Was it an accident, and now they're going back to civilian life after some training in power control? Will the Society put a hit on them as an unaffiliated nuisance and they disappear into the night?

Feel free to run anything by us if you're not sure or have any questions, we're here to help!

Also, as a final note, we're going to host a Worldbuilding Meme soon, where everyone can share their NPC and setting detail ideas to collaborate with others and borrow off each other. That would be a great place to show off, flesh out, and get the most out of an NPC idea like this.
